Holy Family University is a fully accredited, Catholic, private, co-educational, four year University located in the Torresdale section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1954 by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Holy Family provides liberal arts and professional programs for more than 2,100 undergraduate students through day, evening, and summer sessions.

Holy FamilyThe University is based at the Northeast Philadelphia Campus, which serves as home of the traditional undergraduate program and offers courses in the graduate program. The Northeast Philadelphia Campus also offers student housing for full-time undergraduates. Located less than a mile from Bucks County, Holy Family offers the benefits of a big city in a quiet, park-like suburban setting. With easy access to regional rail lines, city bus routes, and nearby expressways, the University serves as a gateway to all that the City of Brotherly Love offers.

  • Academics: The curriculum of Holy Family University stands within the mainstream of a 2,000-year-old Christian liberal arts tradition. The core curriculum of religious studies, philosophy, the humanities, and the social and natural sciences implements in a general way the objectives of the University. It also contributes to the formation of liberally educated students who find their education is functional in the 21st century. Through this education, students are encouraged to seek not merely information, but personal formation and enrichment.
  • Vision: Holy Family University envisions itself as a faith-inspired, values-directed, and highly personalized learning community in the Catholic tradition, a comprehensive, regional, professionally oriented university; an achievement organization; and an outcomes-oriented university.
  • Part Time: At Holy Family University, the designation "part-time" applies primarily to traditional and nontraditional students enrolled in credit courses on a part-time basis (i.e., taking fewer than 12 credit hours a semester). This program is intended to satisfy the needs, interests, and goals of the nontraditional, working adult student who wishes to begin or to complete a degree program, to pursue a second career, or to seek professional advancement or personal enrichment.

Part-time students may enroll for day, evening, or Saturday courses, choosing whichever schedule best meets their needs.
