Our live butterfly exhibit has an additional fee of $2.00 per person for general admission.You may be eligible for admission discounts and group discounts.

The Ecology Cafe, located on the Ground Floor, provides a variety of snacks and meals. The Academy Shop, which is located to the left as you enter the the museum, features a wide range of gifts and collectibles. Go to For Families to learn more about attractions and amenities of interest to families with small children. You can also see the Floor Plan or learn about the public art outside of the Academy. Groups with ten or more people and that register 72 hours in advance are eligible for group discounts. Groups are also eligible for guided tours of our exhibit galleries, research library, and behind-the-scenes tours of our research collections and laboratories.

Visitors are welcome to take personal photos and videos during their visit. However, the use of tripods may be restricted because of public safety concerns. Commercial and media photographers, videographers, and filmmakers should consult our guidelines.
    Q&A Session following a Center for Environmental Policy program
  • Enriromental Programs:

    The Center for Environmental Policy presents evening Town Square programs and Urban Sustainability Forums on environmental and sustainability issues.

    All programs are free and open to the public. Registration is requested.

    Wild Weekends: On selected weekends and holidays during the year, families can create crafts, engage in special interactive activities, examine museum specimens, meet live animals, and see special presentations. Free with museum admission. For current Weekend Events Click Here

    Family Field Trips and Workshops :

    Where Families connect with nature and each other. The Academy invites you and your family to share in one or more of these fun and educational field trips and workshops that are held on selected weekends throughout the year. They are designed for children ages seven and up for your reservations today.
